Yummy yummy fruits and snacks sits tucked into a busy stretch on Riverside Drive in Mount Vernon, serving up a lively and colorful cafe experience centered on fresh fruit creations and Mexican-style snacks. It’s a spot where the day’s pace feels set by the hum of people waiting in line, a sign of steady local crowds drawn by the consistently fresh ingredients and quick, friendly service.

This isn’t your typical coffee shop; instead, the focus is on vibrant, fruit-forward treats like their standout coconut shaved ice — creamy and refreshing, perfect for warm afternoons. The menu leans heavily into fresh fruit presentations and light snacks with cultural roots, including tostadas topped with cueritos (pickled pork skin), and the kind of richly spiced drinks and street food snacks you might find at a neighborhood market, such as mangonadas and esquites, cups of corn flavored with cream and cheese.

The atmosphere is clean and straightforward, with an emphasis on efficiency as there is usually a line to get in. This suggests it’s a popular spot for locals and visitors looking for a quick, tasty break that feels wholesome and vibrant. The kind of place you might come to after a walk along the nearby riverfront or as a stop on a sunny weekend, especially when you want something bright, cool, and satisfying without the fuss.

Yummy yummy fruits and snacks fits well into Mount Vernon’s diverse food scene by offering something fresh and accessible — great for people who appreciate fresh fruit paired with savory, slightly spicy snacks, and handcrafted aguas frescas. Regular customers seem to enjoy how these offerings lift the mood on slower days, with the fruta en vaso (sliced fruit cups with chamoy and tajin) serving as a small splash of sunshine in the middle of the day.

Overall, expect a casual, bustling spot that thrives on freshness and local flavor. Bring your patience during busy hours, but you’ll be rewarded with quick bites that feel both wholesome and lively, especially appealing on sunny days or as a refreshing afternoon pause.

One of my favourite places since I moved up here at the end of last year. So far I've only had the fruta en vaso - sliced fruit in a cup with chamoy sauce and tajin. It's SOOOO good! Big slices of canteloupe, pineapple, mango, watermelon, jicama and cucumber. I can be in a mopey mood and it's like eating a cup full of sunshine. So fresh, delicious and full of flavor. I need to try their other items. Follow their facebook page where they post gorgeous pics of their indeed YUMMY current offerings!!!! Jan 2024 - I still regularly go here but need to go more often! I have since become addicted to their tostadas de cueritos. It's a crunch tostada with pickled pork rinds, chopped tomatoes, onions, slices of avocado, crema, hot sauce. They're sooooo good! I've also tried their elotes (Mexican street corn) and WOW - amazing!!!! I've also had a couple different agua frescas and they were delicious as well. I feel so lucky they are so close to where I live! Pictures (odd it doesn't let me caption): Mar 2021 - fruta en vaso May 2022 - fruta en vaso Aug 2022 - cucumber agua fresca, fruta en vaso and tostadas de cueritos May 2023 - tostadas de cueritos Jul 2023 - tostadas de cueritos

Such great food! I am no tamale expert but these were so delicious. I ordered the chicken mole tamales but they offer many flavors, red and green pork and also sweet tamales. The tamales were around $25 with tax included for a dozen. Although I was there for the tamales I also tried the drinks and I was very impressed. The coconut shaved ice (raspado de coco) was so creamy and refreshing. The diablito(?) Was like a chili mango slushy with fresh fruit added. Both drinks really fresh. It looks like this is the place for Oaxacan street snacks and tamales. Definitely give it a try!
